Why I practice yoga
I have come to realize that perhaps the most important reason I love yoga is that it is not only a physical practice that has helped me gain physical strength and flexibility but it is a practice that is built from the inside out, the core of our being, which is easy to push aside or ignore until we really take a look at it. Knowing yourself and how you want to show up for others and in the world is liberating, and we all can have that. There is a part of us that is always still, yet always awake, and we forget that it is always available to us. Through yoga, no matter where you begin, you can gain so much for yourself… your physical strength and flexibility along with gaining more understanding of the truth of who you are.
What I offer
Perhaps you already have a yoga practice but feel you are not getting what you need; perhaps you have been away from it for a while and are ready to begin again; perhaps you have a nagging injury; perhaps you have never tried yoga but feel intimated or overwhelmed by the larger classes and feel you won’t fit in.
I can help with all of these concerns. I offer small classes as well as private individual sessions, partner sessions or a small group with your favorite friends or your family. Private parties, such as bridal showers and birthdays are fun events with which to include yoga. E-mail or call if you would like to chat about what best fits with what you are looking for. The yoga therapy components of my teaching are based on my Advanced Medical Exercise Specialist certification through the American Council on Exercise and my years of experience and ongoing education working with the healthcare community to provide physical and wellness services to people with chronic medical and physical conditions, not derived from my status as a RYT with Yoga Alliance Registry.
